We do not collect any of your personal information via our Web site unless you voluntarily provide it to us. The personal information that you voluntarily provide will be disclosed only to the ERS employees or officials, or those under contract with the ERS, with a ‘need to know’ basis for purposes of fulfilling their job responsibilities; employees with access to your personal information are required to strictly maintain the confidentiality of all member information. Public Records Law

Wisconsin laws exist to ensure that government is open and that the public has a right to access appropriate records and information possessed by governmental entities. At the same time, there are exceptions and limitations to the public’s right to access public records that serve various needs including the privacy of individuals (e.g., the home address, home electronic mail address, home telephone number, or social security number of an employee). Exceptions and limitations are provided by both state and federal laws. Information collected at this site may become public record and may be subject to inspection and copying by the public, unless covered by such an exception or limitation in law. Some of the exemptions and limitations to the public’s right to access public records are listed in Wis. Stat. §§ 19.35(1)(am), 19.36(10), 19.36(11), and 19.36(13).
